My definition of late is arrival after the alotted space provided

I chose late today because my Wednesday word is being posted on Friday. The first part of dictionary.com's definition was pretty confusing. After I read it a couple times it makes a little bit of sense. I quess even when you are late you still plan on "coming" to whatever it is you are late for.
