Improvements...Really?

Well, lets just say some improvements great. Others, horrible!

For my first improvement of writing more. Not only on here but also in some sort of book, I started out great but recently have not been doing it at all. How your improvements or resolutions always go, huh? I have to stick to this. I do not want to lose the few people who do read my blog because I am not using it. I hate when the people's blogs who I read do not post. So why the heck do I do it. I will get back to it!!!

My second improvement of starting to vlog. I have not done one at all. I have not even attempted to do it. I promise to have one up in the next month!

Third improvement of being fit and active. I have done a little bit of this. I try to walk Jemma as much as possible and take her for a longer walk than what we use to do. If she does her business and wants to go inside I just keep her out and walk her a little more. Also while I am at work, instead of just sitting on my butt when we are dead I will get up straighten the merchandise and walk around the store a couple times. I really need to start going the gym before we move and I do not have a gym.

For my fourth improvement looking good for my wife on my wedding day. Well I have not gotten married yet...so.

My fifth improvement of helping Lauren around the house and cooking has been amazing! I have focused my improvements on this the one the most. I do the dishes as much as possible. Dust the house every once in a while and vacuum quite often. Cooking wise I have improved a lot also. I will make our lunches every once in a while and make dinner for us as much as possible. I just made homemade chili the other night.

My last improvement of figuring out what I want to do for the rest of my life, I am still working on. I did get more hours at my job that I am at now and that is really helping. I work 36-40 hours a week now. I am so grateful for this opportunity that my bosses have given me. There are a few things I would like to do for the rest of my life, it is just a matter of figuring out the best one for Lauren and I.

So here is to improving my improvements!!!

Wednesdays Word

Todays word: Awesome
-adjective

Definition from dictionary.com: inspiring awe, showing or characterized by awe

My definition of awesome is pertaining to someone or something that made you awestruck or happy!

When I think of awesome I usually think of my great family and fiancee. I also think of sports and playing sports. Using my definition of the word, when I am with my family, fiancee, or watching/playing sports I usually become awestruck or happy!

What do you think of?!?!?

Wednesday's Word

Todays word: Epic

Definition from dictionary.com: noting or pertaining to a long poetic composition, usually centered upon a hero, in which a series of great achievements or events is narrated in elevated style

I think epic means something of great achievement or of great failure.

When I think of epic, I think of World of Warcraft. Mainly because my brothers both play the game and I hear the word quite often. To be honest with you before I looked the definition up I did not think it was going to speak of poems or writings. Now that I think about it though, it makes sense. I took Mythology my senior year in high school and I cant believe I did not think about that before I looked it up.

So go out today or tomorrow and have an epic day! (Hopefully for the better side)

Wednesday's Word

A little something new!

Every Wednesday I am going to pick a random word. Give you the definition of that word. Tell you what I think about the word and what it means to me. Hopefully you will leave a comment and let me know what you think about it and what it means to you! (I like comments)

I believe words have more than just a definition and more than just something that comes out of our mouths. I feel as though we say words without really thinking what they mean.

Today's word is: Grace

Definition from dictionary.com: elegance, or beauty of form, manner, motion, or action. It also reads, favor or good will.

For me, grace means delicate and gentle. To me grace is one of the most beautiful words in the english dictionary. I would love to name one of my kids Grace. When I say it, it almost calms me down, as weird as that sounds. I find grace in nature through the trees and the beautiful parts of this world.

Rest of Improvements and a LONG week

I know I already told you I am going to write more, not only on here, but, in some sort of book, but I have a couple more "Improvements" that I want to work on this year!
First off the one everyone is waiting for. I want to "vlog" on my Iphone and make videos using Imovie on my phone. I really want to explore more "media" and experiment a lot this year!
Another is: Be fit and active. I do not want to set a weight loss or say I am not going to eat this or that because I know I will not stick to it. Instead I want to eat better, making healthier choices and work out at our apartment gym and play more sports this year even if it is just shooting hoops by myself.
Another is: Look good for my wife on my wedding day this year! I am getting married on September 10, 2011. 9 10 11!!! This "Improvement" ties in with my last one. I want to look good for her and be able to do whatever we want on our honeymoon without getting out of breath from walking down the stairs.
Another is: Help Lauren with the house and cooking. What, Matt has a passion for cooking and he wants to improve on cooking? That makes no sense. To be honest with you since I have moved in with her, I cook about once a week and sometimes only once every two weeks. As far as the house goes, I do not really help her at all with this. Occasionally I will vacuum the house or dust the family room but I need to help her out more! (Geeze, I sound like crap now)
Last is: I want to figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life. I cant live on what I make now for the rest of my life and I want to be able to support my family on the income that I bring in and be able to tell Lauren she does not have to work. She can stay home and do what she wants. I have a couple things in mind but am still exploring.

A long week indeed! This past week my closest grandparent and last grandparent past away. My grandmother. She is in a better place now and I know she is fishing and eating with my grandfather. She will be missed by so many!

Just a Preview...59,13,2(3)

What Preview? And 59,13,2(3), what the heck does that mean?

One of my New Years "Improvements" ( I like to call them improvements not resolutions) is to write more. Not only on my blog but in some sort of book. I want to write little stories as well as movie reviews, foods I have eaten, and my daily life. I miss writing on here and the only person to blame is myself. I get mad when I go to another blog I read frequently and they have not written in a long time. So, I know when the few people who read my blog come and see I have not post hardly anything at all they are probably upset. I am also going to try and do a little something different but want to wait and tell you after New Years.

59,13, 2(3) are the amount of post I have blogged in the last three years. 59 and starting in March for my first year! That is pretty darn good. 13 for a whole year my second year is bad. 2, and this post being my third this year!!!!! Are you serious? That is horrible!

Things are going to be different in my 4th year of Blogging!

Movie Review'S: Star Trek & Night at the Museum 2

Star Trek:

First off J.J. Abrams is absolutely amazing! I know a lot of you know I love Fringe and he did that as well. So knowing Abrams did this Star Trek I was super excited to watch it. I have never watched Star Trek really, besides just a few movie clips here and there. The sci-fi in this movie was fantastic and the action was also great! I was super happy to see a familiar actor in this movie that I sure Abrams got. Spock Prime is also a character in Fringe, William Bell, who is fantastic in both. The only thing I did not like was that the film was a little jumpy. But definitely watch this if you have not yet.
Overall Grade: A-

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian's

I loved the first Night at the Museum, so I could not wait to see this one. I thought the story line in this one was great! I also enjoyed the fact they incorporated a LOT of stuff and actor's/actresses from the first film. The comedy was once again great and I believed helped this movie in the slow parts. Hero's always win
